The Dark Side of the Oil Boom was a big project the POLITICO Pro team worked on. For print, I put a ton of work into pulling together a expansive package. The highlight of the inside pages was a five-column map pinpointing all of the train crashes involving oil spills in America since 2009. This map was more than just a static image in the newspaper — it lead the POLITICO website as an animated GIF.
